About The Douglas Bader

Named in honour of the ace WWII Fighter Pilot, the Douglas Bader is a family pub and restaurant catering for a wide range of tastes and interests. Located on what was once the airfield runway, the Douglas Bader now sits beside several acres of village green. Our history is clear to see inside with our collection of WWII memorbilia, photographs and large aircraft propeller.

We offer a wide selection of food and drink – from bar snacks to complete meals – served in a friendly family atmosphere. In summer we also serve food and drink outside on our large patio. The bar offers at least 3 Real Ales on tap, a choice wine list, and a whole range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic alternatives.

Children are most welcome and we have both indoor and outdoor play areas as well as a dedicated Children’s menu. Inside, we have a separate games room featuring a pool table and darts board.

Despite our leafy surround we are only 2 minutes off the A12, so don’t just fly past, drop in.
